Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She started by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Then she expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. Apart from classical music and jazz, she started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. While in college, she concentrated on her studies, and then studied women's studies and journalism. For a brief period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she finished her studies. The track My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. The track was later included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included queef track, and the witty NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The song was directly connected to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. Following a career that was successful as a singer, she chose to assume the character of actress. Her film credits include films like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in 2018 with a few high profile films, including Dude Ocean's Eight as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
