The actress became interested in acting when she was enrolled at Middlebury College, Vermont. After earning her Master's degree from the School of Fine Arts, she studied at the American Conservatory Theater. Belknap has several television credits, such as series regular roles on Medical Investigation, Third Watch, and The Handler. She also performed recurring roles on Deadline as well as Law & Order Law & the Special Victims section along with the role of a guest star. Belknap starred in Alchemy, and her first major film role included The Reality Trap.
